Parking: in Dakar, parking depends on the neighbourhood. On the Plateau, daytime parking is paid and supervised by informal attendants (200–500 FCFA). In the Almadies and residential areas (Maristes, Mermoz, Liberté), parking is free and straightforward. Most residential buildings and complexes have car parks.
Servicing: for contracts of one month or more, routine servicing (oil change, filters, worn tyres) is generally at the rental partner's expense. If a mechanical problem arises, contact the partner — a swap or repair is organised within 24 to 48 hours.
Washing: car washes are everywhere in Dakar (1,000–2,500 FCFA for a full exterior and interior wash). During the dry season (Harmattan), a weekly wash is recommended to protect the bodywork from dust.
Fuel: prices are state-regulated (identical at every station). Total, Shell and Oilibya are ubiquitous. For city use within Dakar, expect roughly 2 to 3 fill-ups per month in a city car.
