Rose Faye
Engineer and entrepreneur, Rose founded Senoto to modernise vehicle rental in Senegal.
Senoto is the platform its founder wished she'd found the day she arrived in Dakar with a baby in her arms and no car waiting for her. For travellers, for the diaspora, for families. For everyone.
Senoto's story begins with a very personal frustration. Rose Faye, the founder, returns to Senegal with her months-old baby. As on every trip back, she needs a car — to meet family in Saint-Louis, for the airport appointment, for daily errands. And as every time, the journey is the same: WhatsApp threads, blurry photos, prices that change between the call and the pickup, a cash deposit handed to a driver she doesn't know, a missing child seat, a vehicle that turns out not to be the one promised.
With a baby on her lap and a flight just landed at Blaise-Diagne, those frictions stop being annoying — they become unworkable. That's the day she decides to build what didn't exist — a platform where everything happens online, from vehicle choice to payment, from pickup point to deposit. Transparent on prices, honest on terms, and above all suited to local habits. Because a platform that accepts Wave alongside Visa is not a detail. It is the essential.
“I wanted to build the tool I would have loved to find that day, at the airport, with my baby — for myself, for my loved ones, for the diaspora, for every family that wants to enjoy Senegal without the hassle.”
Senoto is built from Dakar, for local use first — Senegalese, diaspora, business travellers, families on holiday. Not a Western model dropped here, but a platform built with the codes of the country: Wave alongside cards, pickups at the agency or at the airport, reachable human support. The ambition over time: to modernise vehicle rental in Senegal, then across West Africa. We start small — a few carefully chosen vehicles, three pickup points — and grow while staying true to one demand: save you time, without ever costing you trust.
A founder, a hand-picked partner network, and a tech team building a platform that matches the ambition.
